Introduction to common pipeline inspection methods and advantages of pipeline Periscope
From the current technology, the pipeline detection methods mainly include sonar detection, video detection, pipeline Periscope detection and some more traditional detection methods. Actually, each method has its own applicable scope and characteristics. Generally speaking, sonar detection can only detect objects underwater, such as foreign objects in pipes and mud deposits, but there are some limitations in detecting structural defects. Let's give a specific introduction below.
Pipe Periscope
1、 CCTV video detection
This is a commonly used method for detecting underground pipelines. The principle is to use closed circuit television cameras to capture and transmit the current situation of underground pipelines, making it easy to see any blockages, cracks, damages, or tree root invasions inside. The limitation of this method is that the part of the pipeline covered by water or mud cannot be detected. In addition, when using television detection, it should be ensured that the water level inside the pipeline is kept below 20% of the pipeline diameter.
2、 Sonar detection
This is a detection method that utilizes high-frequency sound wave reflection to locate the medium. In theory, this method can be used in the atmosphere, but its actual use is actually limited to underwater. Sonar technology cannot penetrate some hard surface materials, therefore, this method cannot detect the thickness of the pipe wall or some related geological parameters around it. In addition, when using sonar detection, it is necessary to ensure that the water depth inside the pipeline meets the usage conditions, such as when the equipment is submerged in water for more than 30 millimeters, etc
3、 Periscope detection
This is an endoscopic inspection of pipelines using electronic camera high magnification zoom technology, combined with high-quality focusing, astigmatism and other technologies. The advantage of this method is that the Periscope is easy to carry and easy to operate. It can eliminate the steps of manual downhole detection, effectively reducing the occurrence of toxic incidents related to underground harmful gases, making it more convenient and safe. It is a method that can play a certain auxiliary role in television detection.
In addition, the pipeline Periscope detection method can also realize multiple zoom of the camera and random switching of near and far lights, making the line of sight in the pipeline clearer, and the equipment can be carried by a single person. It can also adapt to some complex or difficult working environments.
